"Living life in the body of the wrong gender is not something I would wish upon anybody. It’s an extremely traumatic experience, and for me, I’d say it has taken from me 20 good years of my life. The emotional distraught of not being able to live life as a woman when everything inside me knew that it was my true identity left me feeling hopeless and unfulfilled for too many years.

I always knew that transgender surgery would be expensive, but I didn’t know exactly how much it would cost until I began doing my research.   After waiting months to even get an appointment, I was told that a complete SRS transformation would cost me almost $80,000.  Also, due to the surgeon’s limited availability, it would be 12-14 months before I could have my procedure.   

I had heard of people traveling to Thailand to have SRS procedures and knew that some of the best doctors in the world practiced there.  I tried contacting them directly but it was pretty difficult to actually get a hold of anyone.  When I learned about Satori’s transgender program, and that I could save 50 percent or about $40,000 I knew this was the best choice for me.

I felt much more comfortable having Satori coordinate my care.  Kevin Poling, the company’s Director of Client Relations, handled everything.   I had a lot of questions initially but his reassurance and caring demeanor really put me at ease. Kevin truly was a god-send.  He helped me to understand exactly what the process would entail, what to expect, and assured me that I would be beyond pleased with the results.

I was beyond impressed with the friendliness and professionalism of everyone who I encountered in Thailand, in and out of the hospital.  When I first checked into Samitivej Hospital, that was when I felt the biggest sense of relief. From just walking into the hospital, I knew that I’d be in good hands, and I was right. The hospital itself was immaculate and beautiful. It almost felt like an upscale hotel.

My doctor was exceptional. He walked me through all details of my surgery. The nurses, too, were great. They checked in on me frequently, were very friendly and took the time to make sure I was comfortable and well taken care of.

 Satori’s staff went above and beyond with their level of customer service by checking on me throughout the trip and making sure that I had everything that I needed. Overall, I can say with confidence that the quality of care I received at the hospital was superior to anything that I’ve ever experienced in the U.S.
