Harris to provide insight and strategic direction to Satori World Medical

San Diego, CA – November 16, 2011 – Satori World Medical, a leading medical travel company, has appointed Geoffrey Harris to serve on its Strategic Advisory Board.  Satori’s Strategic Advisory Board assists the company’s Board of Directors and senior management team in the design of Satori World Medical’s forward-looking strategy and tactics.

Geoffrey Harris currently holds the position of Managing Director and Co-head of Healthcare Investment Banking Group at Cantor Fitzgerald & Co.  Cantor Fitzgerald & Co. is a leading global financial services firm.  

Mr. Harris most recently served as Managing Director at Gleacher & Co. where he focused on the healthcare industry assisting companies with capital raising and M&A. Prior to Gleacher & Co., Mr. Harris was a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at Jefferies Asset Management and at Sirios Capital Management. Earlier, Mr. Harris was the Global Head of Healthcare Research at UBS Warburg. Mr. Harris holds a BA in Economics from Oberlin College and an MS in Management from the Sloane School of Management at MIT.

Greetings from New Orleans! We arrived at the Ernest N Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, LA on Sunday, October 30^th for the 57^th Annual Employee Benefits Conference put on by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans. The International Foundation’s Annual Conference is the largest industry gathering of this market in the world. The Annual Employee Benefits Conference discusses the latest cost-saving ideas, updates on legislative developments and creative approaches to new challenges. Satori World Medical is exhibiting at the conference and showcasing an innovative medical travel benefit as an approach to lowering employer healthcare costs.

Satori World Medical has been receiving a lot of interest with the attendees and there is constant traffic at our booth.  It is great speaking with employer trusts and TPAs that are looking for unique, new ways to save healthcare dollars and truly embracing the idea of global healthcare.

The weather in New Orleans has been beautiful and sunny and in the low 70’s. On Sunday, we arrived in Phoenix, Arizona for the 31st Annual Self Insurance Institute of America’s Conference & Expo, where thousands of self-insured employers, brokers and TPAs convened to share and explore the most innovative strategies for the self-insured marketplace.

Today, we had meetings with various self-insured employers and TPAs, discussing the concept and benefits of a global healthcare benefit. One of the main focus areas was how employers can reduce their employee healthcare expense, while still offering them the variety of healthcare choices and services that will meet their individual needs.

The booth traffic at SIIA has been very strong and many attendees have expressed an interest in a medical travel. Moreover, many attendees have commented that the significant cost savings that are associated with medical travel is something all self-funded employers should consider.

It has been great seeing innovative employers and TPAs embracing the idea of global healthcare and Satori World Medical. Harris was previously the Managing Director in Investment Banking at Gleacher & Company. In this capacity, Mr. Harris assisted healthcare companies with capital raising, mergers and acquisitions, and restructuring.

Prior to his position at Gleacher & Company, Mr. Harris was Managing Director/Portfolio Manager at Jefferies Asset Management and at Sirios Capital Management.  In addition, Mr. Harris was the Global Head of Healthcare Research at UBS Warburg and Sector Head of Healthcare Services Research at Smith Barney.

Mr. Harris has been a contributor to Health Affairs and a panelist for The Center for Studying Health Systems Change. Mr. Harris received an MS in Management from the Sloan School of Management at MIT and has a BA in Economics from Oberlin College.

Dr. Johnson has been in private practice for over 30 years in San Diego.  He is a published researcher and has played a leadership role in several professional and business organizations.  Highlights of his professional roles include President of the American College of Surgeons (San Diego Chapter), President of the San Diego Society of General Surgeons, and Chief of the Medical Staff at Grossmont Hospital, a large tertiary medical center located in San Diego.  His business affiliations include member of the Board of Directors, San Diego Hospital Association, member of the Board of Directors Grossmont Hospital, and President and member of the Board of Directors, Sharp Community Medical Group.  Dr. Johnson has international surgery experience at the Hospital Mama Yemo in Kinshasa, Zaire, Africa.  Dr. Johnson is a graduate of the University Of Illinois College Of Medicine, Chicago, Illinois and is Board Certified in Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Johnson leads the Quality Department at Satori World Medical and focuses on improving health outcomes and the quality of life of our patients.

SAN DIEGO – September 15, 2011 – Satori World Medical, a leader in medical travel, has appointed David Badour as the Director of Client Services.

Mr. Badour brings over 15 years of expertise in health care sales and client relationship development. In the role of Director of Client Services, he will provide leadership in all facets of client services, including implementation of the Satori World Medical benefit, delivering high levels of client satisfaction and ensuring continuous quality improvement. 

Prior to joining the Satori World Medical’s management team, Mr. Badour was the Regional Vice President of Business Development for Sound Physicians, a leading hospitalist organization. From 2006-2009, Mr. Badour held the position of Regional Sales Director with Sodexo Health Care Services. He also held the Vice President of Business Development position for Emergency Physicians Medical Group and was the National Account Sales Manager of Concentra Medical Centers, where he led negotiations with insurance companies and TPAs.

Mr. Badour holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Management from Albion College. He is currently a member of American College Healthcare Executives and the San Diego Organization of Healthcare Leaders.

David White is currently the Chairman of the Board for IASIS Healthcare, a leading owner and operator of medium-sized acute care hospitals in high-growth urban and suburban markets. IASIS owns or leases 18 acute care hospital facilities and one behavioral health hospital facility with a total of 4,362 licensed beds and has total annual net revenue of approximately $2.8 billion.

Prior to joining IASIS, Mr. White served as Chief Executive Officer of LifeTrust America, Inc., a company that operated 55 assisted living communities in six southwest states. Mr. White also served as President of the Atlantic Group of Columbia/HCA, where he was responsible for overseeing the operations of 43 hospitals in nine states. Before joining Columbia/HCA, Mr. White was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Community Health Systems.  A native of Tennessee, Mr. White is a graduate of the University of Tennessee and holds a master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.
