		<description>I don&#039;t think that medical tourism is the solution to the problem, but as you said it is an alternative given the realities of the cost savings.

It is fairly ridiculous that by flying to the other side of the world you can actually save money.  That is an indicator of a genuine problem. Medical tourism got popular at first for more elective and cosmetic type of surgeries but has now moved mainstream.  It begs the question why people can&#039;t afford the medical care at home.

It might be more acceptable if you weren&#039;t getting as good of treatment as you were back home, but in actuality you can usually find the same, if not better, treatment, care and even better quality of facilities and doctors then possible at home.</description>

		<description>It&#039;s a real shame that USA has such a lacuna in its healthcare. The rest of the world looks up to this great country. I live in the UK where everyone including visitors are covered and have access to the healthcare system.

I suppose USA can learn from the UK and the rest of the world. Th UK model mat not be suitable nor work in the USA but, there is something to learn from it. Remember we are now in a very tiny village popularly refered to as the Earth.</description>
